Amanda Fontanarrosa - Oxford
After 3 years cruising the high seas as a beauty therapist, I decided that the manicure desk was by far the most fascinating place on the ship. When I arrived back home, I shocked my parents by telling them that I was about to specialize in the small part of anatomy known as "nails". However, I spent quite a few years giving clients nails that resembled horse’s hooves..........until I met Gigi - she changed my whole world! That was 1996. In the year 2000, I became a CND Education Ambassador - thanks to Samuel - who scared the living daylights out of me at CND Bootcamp. In 2002, he forced me to audition for Team CND which has led to the most incredible and exciting opportunities that I could never have dreamt of. They've taken me all over the world, whether it be presenting, facilitating, backstage, photo shoots or celebrity appointments. I adore CND. It's pure quality in every way. I love their inspirational images, their infectious love of science (which I used to hate), and their full fashion awareness. They have elevated the very nature of being a nail professional. The brand and its integrity mean everything to me. It has given me (and my parents!) unfaltering confidence EVERY step of the way in EVERY situation WITH STYLE. So, when I'm not thinking about CND, what am I up to? Well, I love miserable minor key music like Coldplay and James Blunt - pretty mainstream really. (And a far cry from my orchestra days - but that's another story). I love movies that make you cry and think - like The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. And don't interrupt me when I'm watching CSI (I'm a frustrated forensic scientist), while eating my favourite food which is a good homemade curry. The coolest place I've ever been is Patagonia. It's in Argentina (my second home) and is this planet's last frontier. I'm a huge fan of the natural world without a human footprint - and this place is all about being wild. I'd love to visit Yellowstone, but not before I've galloped across America on a flash palomino with a lasso. I'm in the UK from April to October, and if I'm not hanging out with my husband and a large herd of horses, then I'm giving 1-2-1 CND training for all levels.
