My journey into the world of nails began 4 years ago when I was sat at my desk, pushing paper around, wishing for something better.
I regularly had my nails enhanced with l&p and found it fascinating watching my nail technician at work. I'd always wanted to work for myself and couldn't think of anything better than to turn my interest into what I hoped would be a career, so I decided to take a course.
Unfortunately I hadn't found Salon Geek yet & ended up paying a fortune for a 5 day 'complete nail technician' course with a local beauty college, you know the ones.... you learn a different system every day and at the end you're good to go.... Or so I thought! After a bit of practice I began working on clients, producing nails that quite literally resembled bricks... gosh they really were hideous. I knew something wasn't right, I had ZERO confidence with my enhancement services, so decided to concentrate on the natural nail instead.
A couple of years passed & in January 2010 I was flicking through an industry magazine & one page in particular caught my eye.... "THE EVENT 2010, CND to launch new product"...... I was intrigued & convinced a family member to lend me the money for my golden ticket. I HAD to go see what all this buzz was about.
Well, I'm SO glad I did, we were introduced to the wonders of Shellac, I knew instantly this was something REALLY special, a room of 150+ techs all aghast watching Kristina Estabrooks & Amanda Fontanarossa do what they do best. WOW!
That was it, I was in love, with CND, S2 & of course Shellac! NO BODY does it better and that is why I am extremely proud to have been given the opportunity to inspire others the way I have and continue to be inspired every day.
Who knows, maybe one day I'll pick up my sable brush again.... At least now I know where to go for the best products, training & support!
