Sweet Squared

I started my nail career by completing my CND foundation with Patricia Shaw in January 2004; up until then I'd been working in the ceramic industry, both teaching and manufacturing.  As I approached 30 I really need a change, a new challenge, something new to learn, I'd studied fashion and textiles at Art College and always had an interest in fashion, art and beauty, which lead me to nails!!  Like most people, I had mine done and just loved the process and the 'art' of nails. For me I can combine all things 'creative' while working with the public.  My first educator Pat encouraged me straight after my foundation to get out there and 'do' nails; I did by starting my mobile business the next week !!

I became an CND Ambassador in October 2008. My foundation course was just the start for me and I loved (love) being in the class room, so I took class after class which fed my new found need for knowledge and along the way I had many ambassadors all of whom gave me encouragement, support, guidance and much technical ability and always with the same passion.  When I finally completed my Grand Master Artist in April 2008 I was over the moon but also still longing to learn more.  The opportunity to share all that CND had given me with other nail techs is what made me want to become a CND Education Ambassador.

I was encouraged to enter the world of national nail competitions after I won one of the very first 'dress the nail' comps on the Salon Geek website; I love the imagery of the photo comps, working and researching a theme, designing a nail 'style' that would work into that theme and finding props, costumes and make up that would all tie together and produce an original nail shot.  I entered a few before being placed 1st at the NEC Beauty UK 2008.

My strengths are being very determined and motivated to succeed and if I am going to do anything, I give it 150%; I also make sure I pay attention to detail if it’s not right I'll do it again until it is.  Strength as a nail tech is my technical ability as I feel 'doing' nails is an art form and I love working behind the desk.

I love CND because of the wonderful, reliable products, the support and education and the people that make it a family environment!

I love pop music!  It started at the age of 8 when I first saw Adam Ant on top of the pops.
Favourite all time movie ... easy... The Wizard of Oz;  I have a huge collection of memorabilia too !!

Favourite Food - tough one as I love everything but if I had to say one I guess it would be Italian but I do love curry too !!

Best place I've been so far is New York; my husband surprised me on my wedding day to a five day trip to the big apple.. Loved it and can't wait to go back
Before I kick the bucket or just get too old to enjoy it I'd love to have a lost weekend in Las Vegas.
