Hannah Rowland - Hampshire
I was offered a Saturday Job at the age of 13 and from then on my Creative Journey begun. I sat and gazed as my boss did set after set of nails, and only ever dreamed of picking up the brush myself. One Saturday afternoon the brush was placed between my fingertips and my first nail was created. Running home to my parents screaming and shouting about this new found career at a tender age blew their minds but sure as ever the support was given and my training continued.
I practiced long and hard and was given opportunities to succeed. I finally made it to the salon floor and did my first set of nails. The salon used Creative and here I found the product not realizing how huge the whole industry lay sleeping beyond my imagination.
I would spend my week at school studying like any normal teen and spend my weekend doing nails, looking back now I have the clients to thank for the faith they had in me to perform. I continued to sit all exams through to my A levels, leaving my back up plan to teach primary school children an option. Through those years I started my real training at Creative Nail Academy Salisbury with Jacqui Jefford. I met Jacqui at the salon Launch.
By the time I was seventeen and a half I had started to sit my masters. I was fortunate to be offered a job at the Salisbury Academy. From then onwards I continued to sit my Masters in Liquid and Powder, Brisa Gel, Fabric and Spa passing as a Grand Master. I oversaw the training and reservation at the Academy, spending my days on the phone to Debbie Davies.
I had heard all about the scary Creative Boot Camp, but never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine being put forward to attend. I was the Girl who sat in her parent’s kitchen on the ironing board, getting moaned at for the smell by her mum and dad, doing clients all hours after work. I attended my boot camp just turning 19 years old and have been an educator ever since. Up to date I have worked backstage at London Fashion Week with Amanda and Liza, Aquascutum and German Vogue photo shoots. Enjoying many other areas as press releases and teaching for Steiner.
Creative took me out from my comfort zone and grew my career; I truly believe we continue this from our foundation course through to our masters, with the students’ commitment.
I love to spend my spare time eating at my mum’s house with family as she is the most amazing Lebanese Cook. On my days off I enjoy relaxing with friends – in the summer down near the sea air or an ice cream in the new forest and in the winter there is nothing quite like a cup of coffee and a movie.
Hobbies- shopping, shopping, shopping and I love to dance, to keep my j-lo bum in shape!
My Favourite quote is “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”- the words say it all.
My favourite fingernail coating has to be warm pink powder with a custom blended white, and Favourite feel for the feet is the Marine Pedicure followed by a beautiful covering of House of Rebels.
Over the last five years I have had the privilege of training some of the biggest spa organisations’ to include Steiner Transocean, Virgin Atlantic, Harrods and Selfridges. I have enjoyed working backstage at London Fashion week at the height of fashion. I have enjoyed working with the Stars to include, Lady Gaga, Naomi Campbell and Lilly Allen. My editorial work includes German Vogue, Aquascutum and press release for the one and only late McQueen.
My secret to success is to believe in yourself, strive for all your dreams but keep your finger nail on reality.
