Hi, I'm Katie Ellison from The Creative Nail Academy in Merseyside. I am based in my salon in St Helens, Merseyside which is situated 15 minutes from Liverpool city centre and is 5 minutes from junction 7 on the M62. I also provide classes in Cheshire for anybody from North Wales, Chester and the Cheshire area. I teach a variety of Creative courses every week, and run classes for up to 8 students. I started my career as a Creative nail technician in January 2001 after doing my Foundation Class at the Manchester Academy. I had been having my nails done by a Creative nail technician for about 3 years, and after a while I started to think 'Could I learn to do this?' As my nails always looked amazing and lasted so well I realised that if I was going to be a nail technician, then I HAD to be a nail technician using the brand that I had worn for many years and that clients were going to love- so I chose Creative Nail Design!

I was mobile for a month or so, before taking the opportunity to own my own salon, which I officially opened on February 1st 2001 and named it Temptations. After 2 years I completed all of my Master Classes with Creative, which spurred me on to enter the Professional Beauty Awards 2003. After a lot of hard work I won the award for Best Nail Technician in the UK.
Winning this award and building such a successful business through using Creative Nail Design inspired me to learn to teach other people and help them to have as much success and enjoyment as I do.

I became a CND Education Ambassador in 2005 after qualifying at the renowned Creative Institute where I was awarded Best Presentation. I love being an Education Ambassador for CND as I truly, truly believe in the products, our students absolutely love and appreciate the material we teach them, and working with CND is like being part of a big family! The passion for the products and the desire to help each other and students that everybody at CND share is amazing, and it makes me feel very proud and honoured to be part of such a fantastic team.

I love many different types of music but at the moment I am finding smooth soul very relaxing especially in my salon, however I love to listen to pop and R&B while I am driving and took my little sister to watch Girls Aloud the other day- I loved it more than she did!!

My favourite movies are the type that you can watch again and again and never get bored, and are really 'feel good' films like Dirty Dancing, Father of the Bride 1&2 and Mamma Mia!!

I love a Sunday afternoon in front of the fire when it’s cold and raining outside and one of my favourite movies are on!
 
I love a wide variety of food in fact I cannot think of anything that I dislike! I enjoy Indian, Chinese, Thai, Italian, but I absolutely love and cannot get enough of oysters and fresh sea bass covered in lemon juice!

The coolest place that I have visited is Las Vegas.  I loved the fact that each hotel was so individual and had its own amazing theme. I have never seen shopping malls like it in my life, and I found my helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon an absolutely breathtaking experience!

Places that I would love to Visit before I die are the Golden Gate in San Francisco, Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles and the Empire State Building in New York.

My favourite quote is actually a combination of two- We're here for a good time, not a long time, so doing business should be fun.
