Hello to One and All, ‘tis I – Mr Ketan Patel.  Here is some fun stuff you may or may not know about ME!!!  

I’ve headed up the Creative Academy in London since 1998 but I started out as a nail technician in 1989 after attending the London School of Manicure and Nail Technology. I used to work for Gina at the Knightsbridge Nail Centre watching her do nails and I just thought – ‘I know I could do that’... there wasn’t an inherent ‘love for nails at first site’ thing with me, I just knew that if given the opportunity – I could become a serious nail artist.

I spent numerous years in the field running and successfully managing two salons, namely the first EVER nail salons in London, the Chelsea Nail Studio and Creative Nails in South Kensington.  I eventually met and fell hook-line-and-sinker for my mentor Gigi Rouse.  I was using fibreglass at the time but it was Gigi who truly taught me technique with liquid and powder – my favourite nail coating.

As a CND nail artist I eventually wanted more and my career as a CND Education Ambassador started in 1994.  Now for those of you who know me, you will know I am a humble man so I don’t mean to sound like ‘Don’t you know who I am’ but my competition awards are too numerous to mention - I have many!!  My treasured moments was being was crowned British Nail Technician of the Year in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000 as well as European Champion in 1998 and to date that is a record never beaten.  I was also very proud to receive Sweet Squared’s CND Ambassador of the Year 2008!

I am known for my colourful personality and my sense of humour is legendary; I have a true passion and commitment towards my students and customers and I know they truly appreciate the time I take to help them.  I listen to them, I hear them and I try to deliver on their needs.  I love doing nails, talking about nails and seeing the ‘lights go on’ when one of my students finally ‘gets it’.

CND has a commitment to our industry and towards research and development like no other.  The award winning education programs and CND’s ultimate passion for people is what I love so much about this great company; we really are a huge global family.  I can honestly say that of all my time in the industry, I know that CND have the best product offering over any other brand out there.

In my private time (and I am a private person despite my larger than life persona), I enjoy reading – especially John Grisham novels.  My taste in film and music is eclectic going back as far as the 1960’s and I love entertaining with my friends.  

My favourite place of all time is the island of Hawaii where I have spent several memorable holidays; I consider it ‘the’ place to retire when the appropriate time comes!!  But Who knows when that will be!!!

The Academy is conveniently situated 3 minutes walk from Alperton Station on the Piccadilly Line and easily reachable on the A 4005 which connects to the A 40, A 406 as well as the M3 and M40.

The Academy seats between 6-8 students and is in constant use for the various advertised classes as well as 1-2-1 sessions and regular Demo season for new products or systems.
The CND showroom is next to the Academy, convenient to all new students and a constant meeting place for technicians of the area. The showroom also sends products out for next day delivery by Post or Courier, (orders need to be placed by 1pm for next day Delivery) the opening Hours of the Shop and Academy are Monday to Friday from 9.30am until 4.30 pm
