A soft, milky white perfect for baby boomers. Opacity: Semi-Transparent
Light Elegance believe ‘What’s Inside Matters’, therefore they have a very strict quality control process when it comes to checking every single product.
During the QC check of the new JimmyGel collection, the Light Elegance team quickly realised that the shipment of bottles only contained 13.5ml of product, not the 15ml, as printed on the label, meaning 10% less JimmyGel than stated.
Therefore, a 10% reduction in price of the NEW JimmyGel collection will be reflected, making these bottles of JimmyGel £17.51/€19.31, instead of the 15ml price of £19.45/€21.45.
We hope you’ll be happy that we haven’t delayed the launch of JimmyGel any further and offered a fair reflection in price. By purchasing JimmyGel at the reduced price, you are acknowledging the reduction in product.

JimmyGel FAQ
Can I create Baby Boomer nails easily using JimmyGel?
Yes! The JimmyGel formulation, brush and colors have been carefully chosen to make gorgeous baby boomers easy to create using Ideal Pink, Soft Pink and Boomer White JimmyGel. Pro tip—Use a combination of Ideal Pink and Soft Pink to make fading into the Boomer White even easier and more seamless!
Is the brush different for the JimmyGel Colours than the original Crystal Clear JimmyGel?
Yes! JimmyGel Colours include premium rounded, high bristle-count brushes for better fading for baby boomers in all four of the new shades. Crystal Clear JimmyGel has its original flat brush for fast, easy application and enhanced control when adding structure.
How do the JimmyGel Colors perform compared to Crystal Clear JimmyGel?
Exactly the same! You can add the same flexible strength and long wear using either JimmyGel Colours or Clear JimmyGel.
Can I combine JimmyGel Colors to help find the perfect pink for my client’s skin tone?Yes! And it’s easy! Are you looking for a bit more pink than Soft Pink JimmyGel but not as much as Ideal Pink JimmyGel? Simply apply a coat of Ideal Pink, cure, and finish with a coat of Soft Pink JimmyGel for a balanced look.
Can I control the coverage of JimmyGel Colours?
Yes! And it’s easy! JimmyGel colours are semi-transparent, but they become more opaque as you add thickness, or coats. If you are looking for more bold, opaque looks, be sure to apply more coats until the desired look is achieved. Controlling your application thickness means looks from extremely natural to bright and bold are possible!
Is it HEMA free?
Like all Light Elegance gels, JimmyGel is 100% HEMA free!
What is the soak off time?
20-25 minutes when soaking thin layer of JimmyGel after removing any hard gel(s) on top and extra thickness.
What is the Cost Per Service?
£0.66 depending on length of nail.
Can I use with non Light Elegance products?
JimmyGel is compatible with most gels on the market, but performance can only be guaranteed when using Light Elegance gels.
What is the cure time for JimmyGel?
We recommend 1 minute LED or 2 minutes UV, but you may find that it cures faster with thin applications. When applying for fast one-step manicures, cure for 2 minutes using the “120s” hard gel button in the LEDdot for high shine!
How many applications of JimmyGel per bottle?
17-51 depending on length of nail and thickness of application.
Can JimmyGel be soaked off?
It can! If you apply hard gels over it, you must, of course, file through the hard gel to allow the acetone to come in contact with the JimmyGel. Like any soak-off gel, the thicker the application, the longer the soak time, so removing as much of the JimmyGel as possible before soaking will reduce the soak time for complete removal. You can also do fast fills with JimmyGel and don't need to soak off completely every time for repeat clients!
What is the best way to soak JimmyGel off?
For fastest removal, we recommend removing all products on top of the JimmyGel with a hand or eFile, filing the JimmyGel down to remove 90% of the JimmyGel, then soaking the JimmyGel in acetone for complete removal if desired by the client. We always recommend performing fills on top of the existing, reshaped JimmyGel and exposing the natural nail to acetone only if complete removal is desired by the client for prolonged nail health.
Does JimmyGel have a heat spike?
Like all gels, Some heat is generated, but it isn't painful! For really sensitive clients, you can use the 120s button on the LEDdot to cure more slowly for 2 minutes and reduce the initial heat generated.
If you didn’t want to soak it off can you do an in-fill with this?
JimmyGel is formulated to be great for fast fills! While you can soak off completely, we recommend in-fills to save time and product!
Can JimmyGel be used just as a base coat? Or does it have to be slightly built up to last?JimmyGel is flexible and lasts really well in just a thin coat over the natural nail. Adding structure is of course recommended for extensions.
I want to be able to offer all my hard gel colors to my soak off clients. What is the protocol of using JimmyGel with hard gel?
JimmyGel acts as a soak-off suspension system under any Light Elegance hard gel color or Lexy Line gel, which makes it perfect for soak-off clients that want to know the product can be completely removed using acetone. For removal, the hard gel must be filed completely off to allow the acetone to come in contact with the JimmyGel using a hand or eFile. We recommend also removing as much of the JimmyGel as possible with a file to reduce the soak-off time.
Has this/will this be tested in the CND lamp like Create was so that we can ensure full curing?
It has been tested with the CND LED lamp and the CND lamp cures it perfectly. The LEDdot lamp is recommended as we recommend to use Light Elegance products as intended within their system. However, we appreciate that techs already have lamps.
What about ‘other’ lamps?
The LEDdot lamp is recommended as we recommend to use Light Elegance products as intended within their system. However, we appreciate that techs already have lamps. Any LE or CND lamp will work.
Do you have an SDS sheet?
LE is a professional only company and carries SDS on all products! Visit lightelegance.com for the latest sheet.
Does anyone know if this can be used under gel polish if someone has a damaged nail that always grows with a low split, to help seal it/protect it?
Yes, it can. The type of damage you speak of has generally occurred in the matrix area and means the client will always have this problem. Like any coating over the nail plate – JimmyGel will enhance the look. You must prep the natural nail plate on this type of client thoroughly to ensure longevity of service and health of the nail plate.
What’s the soak-off time with different top coats?
You would use your eFile or 180 grit file to remove top coats and colour before the removal of JimmyGel. Otherwise you would be looking at up to 40 minutes.
If I use Tack under it, how much longer is it to remove?
Another 15-20 minutes.
What are the benefits of JimmyGel?
JimmyGel has many benefits!! As a gel polish user, you will love the added wear time it allows your customers to have – from 14d ays to 21 days and there are those that go even longer. It also allows you to wear the LE hard gels and glitters and still remove!
Can you encapsulate with it?
Yes – you can add crystals, glitter etc.
Does it wrinkle if too thick?
It does not wrinkle if applied too thickly, but you don’t need to apply JimmyGel thickly. It has strength enough even when applied thinly and that’s our recommendation.
If you just wanted JG only on top of a natural nail and no colour at all, does it need the LE top coat and which would you recommend.
I recommend P⁺ Top Coat but Super Shiny can also be used. The JimmyGel does create a nice shine that lasts roughly 3 weeks with regular use. We recommend curing the JimmyGel on the 120 second setting on the LEDdot light for the best gloss.
Do you need to wipe before applying the top coat or just apply immediately over the JG when out of the lamp?
Just over the JimmyGel is fine - no cleansing is required.
If they had Shellac top coats, could they use that over JG to finish – or any other GP top for that matter?
The Shellac Top Coat should work but we have not tested it. We would recommend cleansing the sticky layer before applying the CND Top Coat.
Do you need to cap free edge with JG?
Yes - capping is always advised.
Do we need to remove shine on natural nail before application (we didn’t and it was fine)?
We advise standard preparation but the JimmyGel has wonderful adhesion, even without the use of Tack. If the natural nail is not prepared, good results can also be had and removal times might even be reduced.
