Introducing Education with Emma! a brand-new education initiative aimed at providing the hair professional with advice, tips, tricks and best of all… brand secrets. Education with Emma is brought to you by none other than the wonderful Emma Taylor, Sweet Squared Hair Education Manager!

Alter Ego Italy is made up of wide range of products for all hair types, including the Technofruit Professional Colour Range. Today we’re going to focus on the cool nuances within the range, perfect if you’re aiming to eliminate or subdue warm tones in your client’s hair.

Icy brunettes and blondes are in high demand right now and so the need for high-performing cool tones has never been greater. The range of Technofruit Cool nuances are gorgeous tones that you can use to cool the hair whilst eliminating or subduing any warmth to ensure you are finishing off with that cool, icy or muted hue.

Technofruit Colour is blue-based so you can safely use your /1’s to neutralise any unwanted warmth. In the /1’s series (which is our blue ash) we have the /1 nuances which are Ash and the /11 nuances which are Intense Ash. We then have the 4/8’s which are matte/ green-based which is fantastic to neutralise any unwanted red tones in the hair - the portfolio is extremely extensive!

AND we have also just launched 17 which is Ash Brunette; these are our graphite tones that help you to achieve the coolest brunettes. Often with brunettes you want to subdue that warmth a little bit, so the Graphite Ash is a really nice choice to use for cooler brunettes.

One of Emma’s personal favourite choices is the /2 series (Iris), all of which are especially complimentary on white hair. Within the series we have 7/2, 8/2, 9/2 and 10/2, so if you are looking to make your client’s white hair look more expensive, these are the nuances for you.

Now let's talk Boosters, so you can add these to ANY of your Technofruit shades including your Hi-Lift. The blue and violet Boosters are going to help to cool down, neutralise and achieve the neutral tones you’re looking for.

Next up is Super Lighteners and you are able to achieve up to 4 levels of lift with these. In the cool range we have 11/1, 11/13, 11/2 ,11/21 - as you are lifting the hair you can intermix these to ensure you are neutralising any unwanted red, orange, yellow tones from the depth of a 6 to a 10.

In the natural portfolio you have your natural nuances which are more neutral. If you looking for a cooler effect on the hair you can swap to your /00’s which have an addition of ash … so still natural but with a little sprinkle of a cooler option!

EMMA’S TIP

“If you are looking to cool and give a muted result to any of your shades, add 5/22 which is an intensity of Iris. You can create these gorgeous cooler muted tones by adding up to a cm of 5/22 into 50g of your chosen target shade!”

So, there you have it. The cool shades within the Technofruit Colour range.
