With the cooler months beginning to settle in, we’re all excited to embrace those deeper hues to reflect a more autumnal nail look. Here, Lauren Michelle Pires, Lead Nail Tech for Gareth Pugh’s SS21 project, The Reconstruction walks us through how to recreate two key looks from the collection that your clients will no doubt fall in love with!
BROWN & GOLD LEAF
This look accompanied the outfit Plague. Gareth’s vision for this overall look was to create an oddness by ‘pairing the strange, inhuman silhouette of the Plague mask with the structured bikini.’ Taking reference from the brown leather of the mask, Lauren created a stunning and sleek nail design, which can be easily replicated in-salon this season. SKINNY BLACK TIPS
Sitting with the outfit Spirit of Ecstasy, Gareth explained he wanted to create something that ‘floated on a pointe but also had dynamism in that it felt like it was going somewhere better.’ Lauren took this idea and created the Skinny Black Tips, mixing a nude base colour with a harsh black tip that was both striking, yet delicate in its intricacy. This look is perfect for those clients who want to mix up their classic French this season and it can be recreated in an array of different colours. Follow the steps in the video below!
